MONEY MAGIC Thursday 9th September.

Only four members turned up for this extra meeting ( Bob U, Brian H, Barry C & Tony G ) which was a bit disappointing. However we battled on regardless and had a super evening of money magic.

Tony G opened the evening with not only some superb magic but with a little history lesson about himself. Sounds a bit indulgent but believe me it added to his overall presentation no end. Tony told us about his coin work and the hours of practice with a half -crown. Tony was performing flying coins many years before threefly? or is it freefly? Whichever he demonstrated his performance with a grace and ease only experience can give you and despite not performing these routines for many years it was poetry in motion to watch. He then went on to a misers dream routine and afterwords showed us his Murry coin holders and a home made device that clipes to the belt. Thanks tony.

Brian H was next up and performed a found coin routine with a lot of two pence pieces. He had a sticker placed on one coin and signed (for identification purposes). This coin was then thrown in a cloth hat and throughly mixed up and lost with lots of other two pence's. Then with the bag above eye level he found the signed coin. Neat trick.

He also performed a just chance with coloured box's and despite forgetting what the numbered cards were for still managed to get it right. He vanished a £1 coin from a box and re-appeared it in a nest of box's turned pieces of paper into dollar notes and let us play around with his dynamic coins. He also did something my notes say "David Buckland" coin choice but I cant remember what that was about.

Barry C said he did not have anything to show us but conceded to try a routine using a pack of cards and a fifty pence piece. First he had a card chosen from a deck of cards looked at and memorized. Next he vanished the coin and had the card returned to the deck. The vanished coin re-appeared in the middle of the deck on top of the chosen card. If you want to know how he did it you should have been there. A superbly made gimmick allows this trick to be performed. Next he showed us a half dollar coin penetration through a hanky. Neat effect.

Oh and me, well just demonstrated my favorite coin vanish.

Great night guys. Thanks for coming.
